Marilyn Barnes Reinhart went Home to be with The Lord December 9, 2018 after a years long, courageous battle with serious heart disease. Marilyn was born in Mobile, Alabama on February 17, 1936 to late William Edwin Barnes (deceased 1982) and Inza Faye McAllister Barnes (deceased 2002). During her early years she and her family lived in Leakesville, Mississippi and in Mobile, Alabama. After she married her husband Earl William (Bill) Reinhart Jr. they lived in Mobile until 1965 when they moved to Florida after Bill accepted a job to begin working with NASA and the Space Program. While in Mobile, Alabama Marilyn was a member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church and, after moving to Florida, a long time member of First Baptist Church of Merritt Island where she had been active in Sunday School, not only attending but also teaching teen aged girls for many years. When her youngest daughter was in elementary school Marilyn took on a couple of part time jobs, one of which was being an Avon representative where she met a number of people and neighbors she had never known before eventually developing life long friendships. When her daughter began attending Merritt Island Christian School Marilyn served as a substitute teacher for a few years until her daughter left to attend Merritt Island High School. When her oldest daughter was at Merritt Island High School and participating in the marching band Bill and Marilyn attended every home football game where, many times, Marilyn could be found working in the concession stand with other band parents. She and Bill were very active in their childrens' and grandchildrens' lives when they were physically able. In her later years, after caring for Bill during his dementia and after his death February 2016, she enjoyed watching western tv shows and movies. Many times reflecting back on when she would watch particular stars, in the programs, when she was younger. She also enjoyed emailing with her friends who lived out of state and who she couldn't visit with in person as she would have preferred. She would also use facebook to keep up with current events although she rarely, if ever, posted anything herself. She also enjoyed watching and listening to the Bill Gaither programs on tv and enjoying hearing the songs which were so familiar to her from earlier years at First Baptist MI.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband of nearly 59 years, Earl William Reinhart Jr. and her brother William Edwin Barnes Jr. (dec. 2005). She is survived by her son, Brad Reinhart (Charlotte), her daughters Lynette Reinhart and Shandley R. Kimrey (Jake), three granddaughters Kaitlyn Beatty (Brad), Emily Weber (Chad), and Anna Reinhart, one step-granddaughter Crystal Ledet (Frankie), her younger brother Henry Preston "Butch" Barnes (Cecilia) three nephews Ben, Kiley, Seth and their spouses and children, and her brother Bill's long time best friend Tommy Manning.
