

Mary and her family moved to Florida in October, 1962. After her husband retired from the Air Force in 1968, they moved to South Patrick Shores where she stayed until Alzheimer’s began to take it’s toll. It was then that she moved to Hibiscus Court Assisted Living Facility in Melbourne.
Mary passed away on Sept 6, 2017 and was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Stanley as well as her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by Ronald E Childers (Margie); Twyla Childers, Vero Beach, Jackie Eakins (Chuck) Liberty, SC and Jodi Larsen (Jeff) Greenwood, LA, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was an avid gardener who could grow beautiful orchids and loved having cookouts with family and friend, where everyone was always welcomed in her home. She was a huge NASCAR fan.
Mary served as a volunteer with the Red Cross for more than 22 years and 12,000 plus hours. She served in various positions and received numerous awards over the years including the prestigious Clara Barton Medal. She also volunteered with the Crisis Services of Brevard County as a counselor. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Satellite Beach for many years and enjoyed volunteering there as well.
Celebration of her life will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Trinity Wellsprings Church in Satellite Beach, interment to follow at Florida Memorial Gardens.
