

Nora Lee (Singleton) Queen, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Cape Canaveral Hospital. She was born November 30, 1937, in Waynesburg, Kentucky, to Onalee Singleton and Elsie Padgett. As children, she and her sister, Jewell (Judy) Buschur, lived with their mom and Mamaw and Papaw Padgett in Waynesburg. She later resided in Ohio and Florida.
Nora married and gave birth to 7 children. She was a homemaker most of her life, raising her children to know God, our Savior. At age 50, she got her GED, learned to drive, and got her first job outside of the home. She went on to become a home healthcare worker and took care of the elderly. She self-taught herself how to play the piano (hymns) and studied the King James Bible.
She is survived by her sister, Janet Ballard, and her children, Ronald Singleton (Tina), Lisa Queen, Vanessa Scales (Adam), Tracey Gibson (Bob), Robin Queen, and Jamie Wright (Tim). She has 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida, at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Family and friends are also invited to a grave site service at 1:00 p.m. on June 1, 2024, at Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY.
