

Patricia Dear, age 89, passed away peacefully late Friday evening November 22nd, 2024, after having lived a long and fruitful life. Patricia was born July 8th, 1935 in Astoria, New York to Edson Merrill and Charlotte MacDonald. Patricia grew up alongside her parents and sister Nancy who all loved her dearly and unconditionally.
Patricia was a woman of immense warmth, love and laughter whose light will forever brighten the hearts of those who knew her. She was the beloved wife of Glen Dear with whom she shared a love story that began in the most serendipitous way. It was at the TikTock bar in Florida where their eyes first met – hers sparkling with curiosity and his hidden beneath the brim of a straw hat. In that moment she knew she found the love of her life. Their bond was an unshakable testament to the power of connection and devotion. She was the cherished mother of Tom Wall, whose presence in her life brought her immeasurable joy and pride. Her love extended to her two treasured granddaughters Carly and Heyley, her adored nephew Peter, and her sister Nancy. She reveled in every moment she spent with them, sharing stories, laughter and wisdom that will echo in their lives forever.
A lover of exploration, Patricia had a passion for traveling, finding joy in discovering new places and meeting new people. She was also an avid reader, often losing herself in the pages of a good book. Her creativity knew no bounds, whether through her ideas, projects, or simply the way she approached life with a unique and thoughtful perspective.
Family and friends relied on her steadfast presence. She was a rock for so many, offering guidance, support, and unwavering love during their most challenging times. Her kindness and strength became a source of comfort and inspiration for everyone lucky enough to have known her.
