He is survived by his daughters, Linda Fisher (Mark) and Kerri Pratt (Randy); granddaughter, Corri Fisher; grandson, Brett Fisher (Kelly); and 3 great-grand children Brennen, Quinn and Josie Fisher.
Phil was born on March 6th, 1935 in Framingham, Massachusetts and grew up in Northern Rhode Island where he later graduated from Burrillville High School in 1953. Later, he graduated from Clark University in 1966. He served in the Merchant Marines and then went on to work 30+ years for Rogers Corporation as a Sales Engineer and was known for his 'gift of gab'. He moved to Melbourne Beach in Brevard County, FL in 1978 and later moved out to the Suntree area in Brevard County.
Phil was an avid tennis player both in Florida and up in Beech Mountain, NC and also loved to hike in the NC and TN mountains.
In addition to his time in Brevard Florida, Phil spent a lot of time in Beech Mountain, NC with his wife Ruth (who pre-deceased him in 2013.) and their many beloved Sheltie dogs (Diamond, Emerald and Amber) There they enjoyed retirement together in the beautiful setting of the Appalachian Mountains, where they were very active and had a multitude of friends who they enjoyed entertaining to show off their beautiful view. Phil enjoyed splitting wood for the fireplace, working outside and a glass of scotch when he wasn't hiking or playing tennis. When talking with Phil it wasn't uncommon to see him with a toothpick behind his ear or sticking out of his mouth twirling around.
There will be no memorial at this time. In leiu of flowers, Phil would be pleased with donations made to the Mid Florida Sheltie Rescue. Donations can be made to their website through Pay Pal at
www.midflsheltierescue.com or checks can be made out to Mid FL Sheltie and sent c/o Barbara Davis 1480 Meadowbrook Rd, NE Palm Bay, FL 32905.
