Robert Eugene Eggleston passed away peacefully on December 4th in Rockledge at the age of 66. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Terry (Ashley); brother, Jack (Marie); his niece Celeste (Kelby); nephews Sean (Katie) and Brendan, and grand-nephews Severn and Robin. He was predeceased by his loving parents, John and Bea Eggleston of Cocoa Beach.
Bob was born in Charleston, SC and moved with his family to Hawaii, and Virginia before moving to Winter Park in the 5th grade. After several decades in Winter Park he moved to Salt Lake City for a few years and then made his final move to Cape Canaveral, where he resided at the time of his passing.
Bob worked as a warehouse manager for most of his professional life, but he will be remembered mostly as an active outdoorsman and in particular as a Scouter and Arrowman. He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow.
Besides camping and hiking he enjoyed kayaking and paddleboarding (he even convinced his dogs and cats to go on the water with him!) He truly lived the Scout Oath and Law and exemplified cheerful service. He will be missed.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Life Event Center, 5950 S. US 1 in Rockledge, FL, on Thursday, December 18th at 10:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Central Florida Council, Scouting America would be greatly appreciated.
