

Rodney (Rod) P. Keith, 84 years, of Cocoa, FL. Born in Live Oak, FL. Born to Madison and Maude Keith. One of five brothers to Howard, John, Charles, and surviving brother Ronney. He was a loving husband to the late Elizabeth M. Hardy. He is survived by his sons Douglas of Casselberry, FL, and Donald of Melbourne, FL, Brother-in-Law Bill Hardy of Rockledge, FL, and Brother & Sister-in-Law Bill & Cheryl Shaw of Sunset, TX, and Sister-in-Law Cathy Keith of Kerens, TX, and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Dad was a Navy veteran and served as an Aircraft Avionics Technician from May 1958 to May 1962, with a tour aboard the USS Intrepid, CV-11. He worked down range during the Apollo era as a Range Rat Telecom Technician in Grand Turk, and Submarine Cable/Switch Technician at Ramey AFB, in Puerto Rico. He retired from Civil Service as a Telecom Switch Technician after 20 years service at Patrick AFB, in March 1996.
Dad enjoyed many interests. He obtained a private pilots license early in life. Enabling him to take family on island visits in the Caribbean. Later in life he enjoyed 5th wheel camping trips in Florida with mom. This ultimately led him and mom to buy a little piece of heaven in the Appalachian mountains, where they built up their stake with a small utility cabin, fresh water well, and an overlook deck. Enjoying their summer months being close to nature. He enjoyed spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren at every opportunity.
Dad is loved and will forever be missed by those who knew him.
A visitation for Rodney will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Life Event Center At Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955, followed by a memorial service from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
