Roger Eugene Brubaker

Roger Eugene Brubaker, 92, passed away on November 23, 2021, in Melbourne, FL. He was born August 19, 1929 in New Carlisle, Ohio. Roger was the son of Clarence and Juanita (Liller) Brubaker. After graduating from Wittenberg College, Roger and his wife of 67 years, Marjorie moved to Florida in 1958, where Roger worked for Harris Corporation until his retirement in 1990. Roger held many positions throughout his time at Harris, including Purchasing, Contracts Manager and Facilities Director.

Roger was a lifelong sports fan and especially enjoyed following Ohio State football. He and Marjorie were also avid tennis players and made many long-lasting friendships within their groups. After retirement he and Marjorie enjoyed traveling to Major League and Minor League ballgames across the country. When at home, he enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a voracious reader. He also enjoyed wood working and was an excellent carpenter.

In addition to his parents, Roger is predeceased by his sister, Jenna Sherick. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; son Brian (Jeanne) of Palm Bay, FL; daughter Judy (Norman) of Callahan, FL; brother, Galen “Bud” Brubaker; New Carlisle, OH; sister Virginia “Winnie” Wilson, Orient, OH, grandchildren, Tracy (Ed) Humston, Loveland, CO, Craig (Kim) Brubaker, Melbourne, FL, Kyle (Felicia) Brubaker, Melbourne, FL; Deena Brubaker, Palm Bay, FL; Erin (Ron) Sheppard, Callahan, FL; Meghan (Jesse) Aspinwall, Callahan, FL; Neil Vaughan, Jacksonville, FL; Keith Vaughan, Orcutt, CA; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 4th, 2021. Visitation at 2pm and Funeral Service at 2:30pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the William Childs Hospice House through the Health First Foundation or to the Salvation Army. Out of concern for the health and safety of those in attendance, the family kindly asks that those attending be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
