Rose Marie Wippich Cofield, aged 91, passed away peacefully at home in Indian River Colony Club (IRCC) on March 24, 2018. Rose was born in Coral Gables, Florida and soon after moved to the Washington, D.C. area. For many years, she owned and operated a beauty salon, Rose Marie of McLean, in Virginia. Rose was an ardent golfer and a proud member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Those who knew her will always remember the twinkle in her eye, quick wit, and easy laugh. She is predeceased by her first husband, Earl J. Wippich. Her beloved husband of 28 years, Colonel Bill Cofield, was by her side at the time of her passing. Rose is survived by her four children (Laura Serumgard, Earl Wippich, Michael Wippich and Trish Becker), two stepchildren (Ken Cofield and Karen Guevara), eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A funeral mass celebrating Rose's life will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist in Viera, Florida, followed by interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to make a donation in her name to St. John's or a charity of their choosing.
