Shirley A. Massey

Shirley A. Massey, 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and recent great-great grandmother, transitioned from this earthly realm on April 5, 2023 at Inspiritas of Melbourne. She was born in Portsmouth, OH on April 24, 1935. She was a beautiful soul who had a smile, greeting and a compliment for all. She never knew a stranger and could literally light up a room with her energy.

She was married to her husband Paul (to whom she was married to for 60 years before his passing in 2012) in 1952. She spent the greater portion of her life as a military wife and living abroad. She had many passions over the years including her love of travel, her family, sewing and she was a member of the Eastern Star.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents Leon and Esther Moyer; husband, Paul Massey, Sr.; son, Paul Massey, Jr.; sister, Martha Belle; daughter-in-law, Gayle Massey; as well as brother/sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many treasured friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Paulette Seelbinder (Brian); granddaughter, Angela Correira (Brian); grandson, Jason Seelbinder (Michelle); grandson Shane Seelbinder (Frances); great-grandson, Shiloh Seelbinder; great-granddaughter, Sofia Correira; great-granddaughter Cierra Sanchez; great-grandson, Leonard Sanchez; great-grandson, Sebastian Correira; great-grandson, Sullivan Correira; great-great grandson Elliot Sanchez; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation from 1-2 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2023 in the Life Event center at Florida Memorial Funeral Home where a funeral will begin at 2 pm followed by entombment at Florida Memorial Gardens. This will be a Celebration of Life so please feel free to wear casual/business casual attire of any color of your choice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA in Shirley's name (an organization that was near and dear to her heart).
