Our beloved Sonia Casanova Marrero passed to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 27, 2017.
Born in New York City Sonia worked an s a paralegal for Pan-Am before retiring. She was a steadfast prayer warrior, enjoyed singing in church choir and was a member of Ascension Catholic Church. Sonia was very active in advocating awareness for our POW’s/MIA’s and was instrumental in getting the POW/MIA flag to be flown in our country. In her free time she enjoyed playing the piano, dancing and traveling.
Sonia is survived by her husband Raymond; her daughter, Michelle (Ferenc) Levai of Hungry; her granddaughter, Linda S Levai; her mother, Socorro Gonzales of Puerto Rico; her sisters, Miriam Casanova, and Rose Casanova; her sister-in-law, Ramona Marrero; her brother-in-law, John Marrero. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Stefany A Casanova Marrero; her sister-in-law, Matilda Marrero and her brother-in-law William Marrero.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, May 5 at Ascension Catholic Church,2950 N Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32935. The interment will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens.
