Steve worked in New York City in the garment industry for 30 years in production and sales.
He was an avid sports fan and loved playing basketball, baseball, softball and stickball. He enjoyed spending time on the water, fishing and collecting seashells on the beach. Steven was nothing if not a nature lover. As a child Steve wanted to be a cowboy. This passion carried through his older years as he enjoyed watching Western movies in his pastime. Steve and his wife, Jo, of 46 years also loved taking Caribbean Cruises and sipping Pina Coladas. Through the years, Steve enjoyed his companionship with dogs of all breeds. He and Jo planted Mango trees together, the fruits of which were shared enthusiastically with family and friends in the neighborhood.
Steve is survived by his wife, Jo Silverman; son Chad Silverman; daughter Tara Capone (Jason); daughter Jodi Padavano (Larry); daughter Karin Carucci (Dave); sister Arlene Mathias; grandson Justin Padavano (Angela), grandson Jake Padavano, granddaughter Alex Padavano, grandson Tyler Nunziato and granddaughter Brooke Nunziato.
