Thelma V. Jones

Thelma V. Jones, 83, of Cocoa, Florida, passed away Friday, July 27th, 2012, at home surrounded by family. She was born February 11, 1929 in Ehrhardt, South Carolina to the late Razzie and McKinley Breland. Thelma was the 7th born of 12 siblings. On August 23rd, 1947 she married Ned Jones, Sr. who preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her loving memory are one son, Ned (Roberta) Jones, Jr. of Dallas, TX; three daughters, Shirley (Kenneth) Murphy, Francine (Kenneth) Speed, and Cynthia (Marcellus) Lyons, all of Cocoa, FL; one adopted son, Eric Thomas of Bamberg, SC; six grandchildren, Felicia J. (Kevin) Jones of Richmond, VA, Joel P. Jones of Viera, FL, Willie “Jay” Lyons, Stephanie Barnett, Kenneth “Danny” Speed, all of Cocoa, FL and Kimberly D. Speed of Savannah, GA; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; five sisters, Carrie Lawton of Old Porridge, NJ, Roslin (Joseph) Mingo of Ehrhardt, SC, Helen Wiggins of Linden, NJ, Ruthie Mae Burton of Cleveland OH, Daisy Mae Reddish of Bamberg, SC; two brothers, Henry (Gladys) Breland Sr., and James (Charlotte) Breland, all of Ehrhardt, SC; three sister-in-laws, Edrie Breeland of Ehrhardt, SC, Nancy Jones of Denmark SC, and Rachel Jones of Leesville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.

Thelma was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jacqueline Lyons.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 30th @ 11am at Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church located at 213 Stone Street Cocoa, FL. Viewing will occur Sunday, July 29th from 5pm to 7pm at Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
