

Thomas George Wilhelm, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 25, 2024, in Melbourne, Florida. He was 67 years old at the time of his passing after a brave battle with cancer. Born on October 13, 1957, in Richmond, Virginia, Thomas, affectionately known as Tom, was the second-born son of the late Calvin R. Wilhelm II and Elizabeth H. (née Strunk) Wilhelm.
Tom is fondly remembered by his loving children, Jennifer M. Dragos and her husband Justin, Meagan E. Wilhelm, and Thomas G. Wilhelm Jr. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughters, Makenna and Madison Dragos; his brothers, Calvin R. Wilhelm III and Jeffery W. Wilhelm; the mother of his children and former wife of 29 years, Kellie Wilhelm; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He spent his childhood in Toms River, NJ, where he developed a passion for sports, particularly baseball and basketball. In 1983, Tom joined the United States Air Force, proudly serving until 1991. He was stationed in Tampa Bay, FL, where he worked as a meteorological and navigation systems technician. After hanging up his uniform, he dedicated the next 30 years of his professional life to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he met some of his lifelong friends. His commitment to aviation safety was evident throughout his career.
In his free time, Tom loved watching sports, enjoying Western movies, and spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. His zest for life, warm humor, and caring nature will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
In the final chapter of his life, his former wife Kellie and his loving children provided unwavering love, support, and care during his illness, showcasing the lasting bond of family. Their resilience and ability to find humor in tough times truly highlighted the strength of their connection. Tom will forever remain in our hearts.
A memorial service to celebrate Tom's incredible life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Garden at 2 PM, with public visitation starting at 1 PM. A committal service and reception to follow. The address is 5950 S US Hwy 1, Rockledge, FL 32955. Friends and family are welcome to attend and share a laugh or a tear as we remember a truly remarkable man. Rest in peace, Tom. Your spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all those you touched.
