

Violet is survived by her husband, Thomas Clifford Westcott; children, Marla Westcott of Rockledge, Mark Westcott, Paula Haderle of Melbourne, and Paul Westcott of Vero Beach. She has 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Donald Lile and Barbara Jean Shidler of Rockledge, Florida.
Violet was born on December 29th, 1931 in Wichita, Kansas to Neva and Paul Lile. She graduated from Ottawa University where she majored in voice and minored in theory. She then married Thomas Clifford Westcott on August 27th, 1954 who was in the United States Air Force. They lived in Wichita, Kansas for 7 years and had her first two children, then to Columbus, Ohio for 3 years where they had a set of twins. After that she was off to Smyrna, Tennessee where she earned a Masters in Education from Middle Tennessee State University and began her teaching career. In 1968, the family moved to Satellite Beach as Thomas was stationed at Patrick Air Force Base. That was when she began her 29 years of teaching at Holland Elementary.
Her children and grandchildren remember her as a patient mother who always did everything to assist her children in pursuit of their goals.
Violet was passionate about music and encouraged her children to pursue music. She was known for the music program she put together, they weren't the just stand and sign type of programs. We are talking about Broadway productions. Violet was also known as an avid knitter. She was very creative and could create custom designs, just describe what you want and she could make it. Violet was active in her church choir until the past decade.
The funeral is scheduled for Monday, November 20th, at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens 5950 S. US Highway #1 Rockledge, Fl 32955. The visitation is at 1:00pm with a service to follow at 1:30pm.
