

Survived by his devoted and loving wife Susan of 44 years, Loving Father to Ron (Donna), Linda, Mark. Michelle Dalto (Michael jr.), and Christopher Breitkopf. Grandfather to Vincent, Angela, Pop Pop to Michael Dalto III, and Faith Elizabeth Dalto, nieces Julie Hight, Leslie Sterba, Carolyn Smith, Deidra Kling (Jeramie) and nephews Keith Chilcote, Scott Chilcote,
Pre-Deceased by his Parents Rudolf and Gertrude, and his siblings Sylvia, Gloria, and Fred.
Werner was born in New York City, lived in Farmingdale and Huntington on Long Island and moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1997. Werner was a volunteer Fireman in East Farmingdale, NY. He proudly served in the US Army and reserves, and worked at Republic Aviation, later known as Fairchild Republic for over 35 years.
He led a faithful life, filled with many ministries at Ascension Catholic Community, in Melbourne including the Knights of Columbus, Men’s Holy Name Society, Lector, EME, OCIA Faith Formation, Little Rock Scripture Bible Study facilitator, Christ Renews His Parish, and many others. He was a member of the Moose, and Elks, Toastmasters International with previous leadership in Boy Scouts of America, and Girl Scouts USA.
Werner had a positive outlook on life. He genuinely cared about others and loved telling jokes just to see others smile and laugh. He lived life to the fullest, loved generously and made others laugh, often.
Final arrangements: Family & Friends Viewing at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Hwy 1, Rockledge, Florida, on Wednesday, April 29, 6-9 pm, followed by Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 N. Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne, Florida. Celebration of life service on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11 am, with burial in the Cape Canaveral Military Cemetery, 5525 US Hwy 1, N. Mims, Florid. at 1:30 pm.
