William “Billy” Carey Gallagher, Jr., born December 6, 1947 in Washington, D.C., died of cancer at Weustoff Hospice on November 27, 2021. Billy is now safely in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his mother Margaret Agnes Gallagher (nee Lace); father William Carey Gallagher, Sr.; brother James Carey Gallagher; and many cousins including Margaret “Peg” Duhigg, formerly of Cocoa Beach, FL. Billy, a 32 year resident of Melbourne, with most recent residence in Palm Bay, was a faithful employee of the U.S. Postal Service in Virginia and Florida, having worked 33 years as a sorter. Billy loved the many cats he had parented over the years, and he would appreciate any donations to be made to: Humane Society of South Brevard (a cat-only facility), 2600 Otter Creek Lane, Melbourne, FL 32905; or any Christian charitable organization.
