

Bill was born on December 20, 1930, in Linton, Indiana to Ralph and Mary Mullis. Bill graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indiana in 1948. On Mother’s Day May 14, 1950, William (Bill) Fletcher Mullis married Betty Jean Graebe at Victory Memorial Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana at 3:30 PM.
Bill had a prestigious career in both the Indianapolis Police Department and the Army National Guard. He learned to fly fixed wing planes and then moved on to flying helicopters. He deployed on Active Duty to both Vietnam and Korea where he earned numerous awards including the Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Medal with Valor, Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Senior Army Aviator Badge. Bill continued his education during his career and graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors degree to support his career progression.
Bill and Betty had a wonderful, fun-loving, adventurous life. They traveled coast to coast, and loved to spend time boating, fishing, golfing, and enjoying family and friends.
His memory is cherished by his three living children Sherri (Jim deceased), Terri (Joe), Steve (Andra), grandchildren Dejah (Steven), Ylonna (Rob), Kris (Toni), Dawn (John), Dustin (Nikki), Amber (Brad), Mark (Christine), Jennifer (Sammy), 17 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife (Betty Jean), youngest son (Ralph “Billy”), and his parents.
Visitation for Bill will be held Monday, December 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, burial at 12:00 PM, and a reception at 12:30 PM.
