

A resident of Cocoa, FL for over 50 years, Bill was born in Clyde, Texas on, May 7, 1932 and raised in Jal, New Mexico.
Bill is a Navy Veteran and retired from NASA where he was an engineer for 30 years. He was also an Allstate agent for 10 years. Bill has rounded up cattle, sailed the seas, motorcycled from Florida to California, and helped send men to the Moon.
Married to his beloved wife, Mariam “Jo” Petty for 60 years at the time of her passing last September. He leaves behind two daughters, Nancy Ervin and Anita Saunders, five grandchildren and two great –grandchildren.
Bill was one of finest men that ever walked this earth. He was faithful, kind, loving, and a source of encouragement to everyone who knew him. He was a faithful member in the Mercy Church of God, serving in the bus ministry, Sunday school, and finance committees. Bill was deeply loved by his family, adored by his children and grandchildren, and will be missed by all. Bill was a good man who has gone to receive a great reward. We never wanted to let you go, but soon we shall see you again where the Lord wipes away every tear.
Services for Bill are at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 3 p.m. Viewing will be from 2-3 pm. A reception for family and friends will follow the service at Mercy Church of God fellowship hall, 1957 Rosetine Street, Cocoa, FL.
