
Ann Grace Sadick passed away on Sunday October 16, 2011 after suffering a Cranial Stroke. She was 74 years old. She leaves a husband, Eugene, and two daughters Judy Levi of Rockville, MD and Rosalyn MacCracken of Pennsylvania. She also leaves three grandchildren, Danielle, Zachary, and Arial Levi.
Ann was born in Yonkers, NY, but moved to Miami, FL, where she graduated from Highschool. She graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in History and Religion. After her marriage, she taught Second grade in Miami to a class of Cuban refugee children. She moved with her husband to the Washington, DC area, where her two daughters were born. She later serverd as a Substitute Teacher in the Montgomery County Public School System. She spend a dozen years as a homemaker, then went to work for the Federal Government as a GS-4 Typist. She was consistenetly promoted, until she became a GS-13 Contract Specialist with the Deparment of the Navy. Over the 24 year career with the Government, she received numerous performance awards, including Special Acts, Special Achievement, Employee of the Month, and Employee of the Quarter. Upon retirement, which was caused by a stroke in 2001, she received the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award for her professional achievement. Among the statements mentioned in the award was her dispolay of an impressive initiative and dogged persistence, showing superb management skills, astute technical knowledge, and reflecting credit upon herself, the Command and the United States Naval Service by recouping $900,000 from several contracts.
