Mr. James Benjamin Davenport, age 77 of Tarboro, NC, Veteran of the US. Air Force passed away in Tarboro on February 8, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Travis and Thelma Briley Davenport, brother William Travis Davenport. James is survived by his wife of 52 years Mary Ann Davenport of the home, daughter Janice and husband Buck Beach, granddaughter Casey and grandchildren Amber and Trey, great grandson Luke, daughter Joy Collins, grandson Robbie Collins, step daughter Jean Grimes and husband Joe, granddaughter Emily, grandsons Kenny and Christopher Kaiser, great granddaughter Monica, step daughter Rosemary Anderson and husband Sam, grandson Jonathan, Andy and Timmy, step daughter Connie Long and husband John, grandson Buck, granddaughter Kelly, great grandchildren Jeffery and Charley Brooke, step son Bobby Allen, grandchildren Bobby Jr, Tonya, Victoria, Chris, great grandchildren Destiny, Tiffany, Emery and Bradley, step son Billy Allen and wife Barbara, grandchildren Stephanie and Martin, great grandchildren Taylor and John Paul, step son Henry Allen and wife JoAnn, grandchildren Bridgette and Thomas, sister Janice Winstead and husband Rufus, nephew Dennis Winstead and niece Cindy Hinnant, 10 step great grandchildren A Celebration of James’s life will be held at the International Word of Life Church, Parkhill Mall, Tarboro NC, at 2 PM Wednesday with the Rev. Jessie Blalock. Family will be receiving friends from 1 until 2 at the church and other times at the home of daughter Joy Collins. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the church building fund.
