Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was always up for just about anything, except the lake, which happened to be her family’s favorite thing to do. Instead, she stayed home and enjoyed the quiet. Betty was a talented interior designer, quilter, and gardener. She was a longtime member of St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in Rogers. She was involved in several community events through the years, such as the Rogers Little Theatre, Rogers Christmas decoration, and Rogers Wellness Center; she was also instrumental in the design of the garden at the Rogers Wellness Center. The family is grateful to Home Instead Senior Care, Innisfree Assisted Living, Innisfree Nursing Center and Circle of Life Hospice Care for taking great care of Betty during her later years.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, James; her son, David; and six brothers and sisters, Verdenia "Pegge", Lula, Melvin, Arnold, Vernon, and Esther.
She is survived by: three daughters, Louanne, Brenda (James), and Carol (Donald); one sister, Sharon Beverly; grandchildren, Kendra (Jared), Mary Anne (Jonathan), Jessica, Joseph (Jessica), Madelyn, and Erin; great-grandchildren, Ana (Mickey), Cobe, Andrew, Grant, Hailey, Lacey, Bennett, and Eleanor; one great-great grandchild, Brody; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at St. Vincent's Cemetery on March 14 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Rogers Wellness Center Garden, or Circle of Life Hospice.
After Glow
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
