

Betty was born and raised in Denmark, Wisconsin. She attended Teacher’s College in Algoma, Wisconsin receiving her teaching certificate. She taught a few years but mostly used her expertise after she married Jim in 1955 while raising five children on the farm in Denmark. Betty and Jim lived in Wisconsin until 1982 when they moved to Rogers.
Betty, Mom or Grandma had a genuine love for her family and devotedly supported her children and grandchildren in their sporting events. She had a love for reading and sports especially March Madness basketball, Chicago Cub baseball and Green Bay Packer football. A faithful church member, Betty taught Sunday School for many years and was actively involved in Women’s Ministry. She was also well known for her cooking, baking bread, and keeping the cookie jar full.
She is preceded in death by her parents and in-laws Hans and Agnes Olsen, one son, Chris Olsen, brother Glen Larsen and his wife, Shirley, brother in law, Jim Palmer and daughter-in-law, Nora Olsen.
Betty is survived by her husband, Jim Olsen of Rogers; sons, Jeffrey Olsen (Cindy) of Iron Mountain, Michigan, Tim Olsen of Kewaunee, Wisconsin, and Tom Olsen (Karen) of Rogers; daughter, Cindy Morgan (Steve) of Farmington; brother, Peter Larsen of Denmark, Wisconsin; sister, Ellen Palmer of McKinney, Texas. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Ben Olsen (Shelle), Brianna Kurdziel (Mike), Amberle Thompson (Denton), Chelsea Baxley (Cory), Crist Olsen (Whitney), Dane Olsen (Claire), Ellie Olsen, Ty Olsen, Adalynn Olsen and beloved great-grandchildren Taylor, Ella and Corey Olsen; Aubrey Kurdziel; Jemma, Alayna and Cora Thompson; Riley and Cayden Baxley; and Hope Travis.
A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers on Monday, December 13th at 1pm. The service may be viewed on livestream at www.facebook.com/PeaceChurchAR. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Betty’s honor to Peace Lutheran.
