With profound love and deep sadness, the family of Cheryl Ann Roth McCoy, 65, of Springdale, Arkansas, shares that she passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025. Cheryl was born on June 22nd, 1960, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she grew up among a large and loving family who shaped the compassionate spirit she carried throughout her life.
After graduating from North Allegheny High School in 1978, Cheryl answered the call to serve her country and enlisted in the United States Air Force. She trained as a medical technician at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi and later served at Rhein-Main Air Base in Germany. Ever dedicated to learning and serving others, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in 1990, after which she continued her Air Force career as a flight nurse. During her 14
years of military service, Cheryl cared for countless service members and their families, offering steady hands and a compassionate heart in moments when they were needed most.
After completing her military service, Cheryl continued her lifelong vocation in nursing, working in several healthcare roles including school nursing and radiology. Her colleagues and patients alike knew her as someone who brought both confidence and comfort into every space she entered. Yet, the center of Cheryl’s life was always her family. A devoted mother, grandmother (“Mimi”), daughter, sister, and wife, she poured boundless love into her children and grandchildren, finding her greatest joy in their laughter,
achievements, and everyday moments. She had an extraordinary ability to make the people around her feel supported, valued, and deeply loved.
Cheryl was also a woman of faith and an active member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she formed meaningful friendships and found spiritual strength. She loved boating, gardening, traveling, and spending time at the lake or the beach — places where she felt closest to peace. Her dogs were her constant companions, and she cherished their presence through every season of her life. Cheryl found beauty in simple joys, whether nurturing her garden, planning a family trip, or enjoying a quiet day outdoors.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Mark McCoy; her son, Mahlon Keith McCoy; her parents, Walter Carl Roth and Lillian A. (Weller) Roth; and her brother, Robert Roth. Cheryl leaves behind her children — Jesse Roth McCoy, Megan Jennifer (McCoy) Hall and her husband Destin with their children Baylor and Emerson, and Colin Mark McCoy — who will forever carry her love with them.
She is also survived by her supportive and loving spouse, Kendall Roetzel, who remained faithfully by her side, as well as her siblings — Walter (Linda) Roth of Richland Township, Pennsylvania; Rebecca
(Dave) Lewis of McCandless Township, Pennsylvania; Michael (Patty) Roth of Isle of Palms, South Carolina; and Jeffrey (Margaret) Roth of Greenville, South Carolina — along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and treasured friends who will feel her absence
deeply.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sentry Shepherds Rescue in Springdale, Arkansas, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing
