

Doris Jean Clark, of Pineville, Missouri, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on August 26, 1939, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was the cherished daughter of the late Reese Roberts and Bertha Mae (Brown) Roberts.
Doris dedicated many years of her life working as a nurse's aide in VA Hospitals, beginning her career in New York and later transferring to Fayetteville, Arkansas . After retiring, she embarked on a new journey with her husband, Lorren, managing and restoring hotels in the Missouri and Arkansas areas.
In her personal life, Doris was married to her first husband, Lorren Mallory Smith, with whom she raised five children. Later in life, she was married to Larry Dean Clark. Doris had a deep love for frogs, collecting frog figurines and memorabilia, and even had a special "frog room" in her house. She was always surrounded by music, loved dancing, and enjoyed traveling and going for drives. Her visits to the casino and playing slot machines were a source of joy and excitement for her. Doris shared a special bond with her devoted blue heeler dog, Mac, whom she spoiled and kept by her side since 2022.
Doris was known for her generosity, resilience, humor and love. She was cherished by her family and was always smiling. Her fun and spunky nature, coupled with her incredible sense of humor, made her a joy to be around. She was deeply involved in her children's and grandchildren's lives, always playing with them, driving them around, and welcoming their friends and neighbors into her home. Doris was incredibly giving and selfless, leaving a legacy of kindness and involvement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reese and Bertha Roberts; her husbands, Lorren Mallory Smith and Larry Dean Clark; seven siblings Dorothy Stapleton, Clareese Whittington, Beatrice Tuttle, Curtis Roberts, JD Roberts, Charles Roberts and Frank Roberts; two children, Reese Ellsworth Smith and Christina Joy Chambers; grandson, Jonathan (Pete) McGarrah; great-great-granddaughter, Eva Wright; and sons-in-law, Manuel McGarrah and Dennis Merseal.
She is survived by her son, Richard Smith (Eva) of Rogers; daughters, Cathy McGarrah (Dick Richards) of Huntsville, and Karen Merseal (Brett Howard) of Bella Vista, 3 stepchildren, Deana Knight, Randy Clark and Kelly Clark; brother and sister-in-law, Philip Smith and Veronica Smith of Alabama. Doris is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Doris Jean Clark will be remembered for her kind-hearted spirit, her involvement in the lives of her loved ones, and the joy, love and acceptance she brought to all who knew her.
