On July 22, 2022, Eugene Austin Marble crossed the Jordan River to join those who preceded him in their heavenly home; his parents, Eugene J. Marble and Clara K. (Kemp) Marble; brother, William O. Marble, and his first wife, Jackie Marble.
After Gene graduated from Forest Hill (1963), he joined and worked for the MS 172nd Air National Guard as a Medic. Gene was a certified small engine master mechanic, HAM operator, and volunteer with Byram Fire Department. He later became known as Santa Clause and was very proud to bring happiness to all the kids where they lived in Byram, Mississippi. He was also a storm watcher for the town, which he thoroughly enjoyed doing. However, Gene is most proud of his years coaching and taking the Black Watch (Youth Soccer) to several State Championships, these are just a few accomplishments of this amazing man.
Gene and his wife of 33 years, Theresa (Harvey) Marble, retired to Rogers, Arkansas 5 years ago. They loved living here and made many friends.
Gene is survived by his wife; son, David Scott Marble (wife, Dawn) of Clinton; stepdaughter, Gypsie Cannon (husband, Austin) of Brandon, Mississippi; brothers, Robert K. Marble (wife, Joy) of Little Rock and Larry J. Marble (wife, Cheri) of Memphis, Tennessee; and his extended family.
We are all saddened by the loss, but know that Gene is resting peacefully in the arms of his Heavenly Father.
A celebration of Gene’s life will be held later in Jackson, MS.
