Frances Jean Schopp, 92, of Rogers passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021. She was born July 6, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Wilford Hayman Wilbanks and Mary Edith Patton Wilbanks. Mrs. Schopp was also preceded by her loving husband of 54 years, Millard Roslyn “Ross” Schopp and by 2 brothers, Lloyd, and Stanley Wilbanks. Frances was a loving, energetic, and an extraordinary woman. Often referred to as ‘Nana’ by many family members, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, mentor, and friend. Frances frequented Sunnyside Baptist Church for more than just Sunday service; she was a charter member and as a deacon’s wife, ministered to many families and individuals. Frances served her church family in her home through hosting an assortment of church groups, always making them feel at home. As a true romantic, Frances wrote well-crafted letters to family members due in part to her opinion that letter writing was a lost art; as a stubborn yet loyal dog owner, she routinely made steak and eggs for her precious Buckwheat, a dog she claimed to hate. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts, playing board games, and cooking delicious meals for her friends and family. In fact, most did not leave her home without a can of pop, carefully prepared leftovers, or if anything, the warm memory of time well-spent with a woman who had a servant’s heart. Survivors include her children, Jean Partain (Oren), Bill Schopp (Mary) and Gail Carroll (Kender); 4 sisters, Elsie Strickwerda, Enid Hadley, Sue Thompson, and Louise Downs; 4 brothers, Donald, Ross, Raymond, and Robert Wilbanks; 7 grandchildren, Samantha Stephens, Pamela Richert, Ray Partain, Elizabeth Schopp, Shawna Tygart, Lindy Romero, and Clayton Nichols; 14 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; numerous extended family and dear friends. Services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021 with Visitation beginning at 1:00pm and her Funeral Service beginning at 2:00pm at Sunnyside Baptist Church, 210 E Locust St in Rogers. Interment will follow at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Rd, Springdale, AR 72762 or www.NWACircleofLife.com.
