He served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict and retired from Caterpillar Tractor in Mount Joy, Iowa, where he was a computer programmer.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Hicks, of the home; sons, Terry Hicks of Waterloo, Iowa, Norman Hicks of Bentonville, Francis Hicks and wife Merilee of DesMoines, Iowa; sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one granddaughter, Destiny Hicks.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011, at Temple Baptist Church in Springdale officiated by Bro. Fred Agee and Bro. Don Elmore.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, or Temple Baptist Church in Springdale.
