Gary Wayne Harris of Springdale, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday February 14th, 2024 at the age of 78. He was born on February 18th, 1945 in Mulberry, Arkansas to the late Leroy and Anna Harris. He grew up in Van Buren, Arkansas.
He graduated from Van Buren High School in 1963 and went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas. He then earned his Master’s degree in Education from the University of Arkansas.
He worked as a math teacher with Rogers Public Schools for 34 years, teaching Junior High math at Oakdale Jr. High and Lingle Middle School. He also taught as an Adjunct Professor at Northwest Arkansas Community College.
In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time in the garden and trout fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leroy Harris, Anna Woodruff Harris.
He is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Linda Morse Harris; son, Eric Harris (Tina) of Springdale, Arkansas; grandsons, Jackson, Grayson, and Mason Harris of Springdale, Arkansas; sister, Peggy Harris of Van Buren, Arkansas; brothers, Dennis Harris of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Larry Harris (Barbara) of Pocola, Oklahoma. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
