Irene Henderson

Irene was born August 6, 1923 in Mankins, TX to the late Harold and Julia (Skinner) Grantham.

Irene spent her time with her family and her church, Rogers First Assembly, and she loved to tend to her flower gardens in her yard. She spent her working years in the public schools, working in the kitchens of the Roswell schools and the Rogers schools both.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Julia; her husband, Othel Henderson; 3 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Survivors include one son, Marlin Henderson and his wife Linda of Rogers; three daughters, Fayrene Gray and her husband J.H. of Las Cruces, NM, Lois Kent and her husband Jim of Pineville, MO, and Louise Joiner and her husband Pat of Rogers; three brothers, Roy Grantham of Roswell, NM, Floyd Grantham of Artesia, NM, and Sam Grantham of Fayetteville; one sister, Sarah Mounce of Elkins; 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Services for Irene will be 2pm Friday, May 21, 2010 at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers with burial to follow at Rogers City Cemetery. There will a visitation for Irene Thursday May 20, 2010 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
