After high school he joined the Navy at 18 years old. He proudly served his country for ten years, operating as an aviation electronics technician. During his time in the service, he met his beautiful wife, Sabina, in Manila, Philippines. The two were happily married for over 46 years, and they had two sons, Brian and Sean.
After serving in the Navy, Jerry continued using his technical skills working with aircraft and drones for many years; moving his family from Tennessee to Texas, Seattle, and a quick pit stop back to Arkansas, before finally making his way back to Hawaii where they lived with their boys for several years. He later returned to Arkansas to live close to his family where he started a trucking company and has remained here for over 25 years.
Jerry had a passion for his family, coaching his boys in sports while they were young then spending as much time with friends along the way. Jerry loved traveling with his wife, taking Sabina on trips back home or far-flung places surrounded by water. His favorite part of their many cruises was the food, many places he went were chosen based on the dining options. When Jerry hit retirement, he continued to express his sense of curiosity and generosity; using his research skills to dabble in stocks or pick up new hobbies like roasting his own coffee beans. When Jerry earned the title of Poppa J, he often had to be talked down from procuring all the sports gear available and started coaching all over again. His kind and loving soul will always be remembered by his family and friends, and he will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind,
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Patsy Presley; and a brother, Jon Presley.
