She was born October 12, 1936 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Horace and Myrtle Denison. She was the youngest of four siblings.
Joyce retired from St. Mary’s Hospital Nutrition Services department. She was always generous with her time and spent many years volunteering at the Moose Lodge, Rogers Wellness Center, and the local chapter of the Democratic Party.
Joyce will be warmly remembered for feeding people delicious food at work and home, digging in her gardens, sneaking cheese to her beloved dog Beau, and teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren the art of dominoes and poker. Perhaps her most lasting legacy will be the laughter she could evoke from anyone with a well-timed joke, wry comment, or memorable story.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald E. Klein; sisters Mildred Smith and Betty Ashmore; and brother, Bud Denison.
Survivors include her children, Kurt (Kathie) Klein of Coweta, Oklahoma; Karl Klein of Flagstaff, Arizona; Theresa (David) Baxley of Benton, Arkansas; Robert (Cathy) Klein of Garfield, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kelly Klein, Daniel (Amanda) Baxley, Kory (Kayla) Klein, Dawn (Sergio) Barron, Katie Klein, Tyler Klein, Will Klein, and Lorrie Klein; seven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Rogers Cemetery, Rogers, Arkansas. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive by 1:50 PM. CDC mask guidelines are asked to be followed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to worthy charities that feed the hungry.
A special thank you to the staff of Four Seasons Assisted Living in Benton, Arkansas for the excellent quality of care they provided Joyce, becoming an extension of her family.
