He was a Vietnam Veteran and served with the Army as an aircraft mechanic and was recognized for being a sharpshooter with the Rifle M-14. After being honorably discharged, he worked at Prairie Creek Marina as one of the first boat mechanics on Beaver Lake. He worked at Jones truck lines for 17 years while continuing to service boats. In 1992, he opened Brooks Marine Service, which is still going strong to this day.
He enjoyed traveling and pheasant hunting. He always lived his life to the fullest and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his son, Jody and his wife, Brandi and their two sons, Zachary and Jacob Brooks of Rogers; two brothers, Ronald Brooks of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and James Brooks of Gateway, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Chelsea Jardon of Dallas, Texas, and Larry’s companion, Rita Farrell of Rogers.
