Randy Dean Sawyer of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, passed away on June 17, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on March 11, 1963, in Gravette, Arkansas, Randy was raised there by his loving parents, Carl "Buzz" and Mary Sawyer, alongside his siblings Ronnie, Steve, Carla, and Larry.
Randy graduated from Gravette High School in 1981, where he was an enthusiastic athlete who participated in various sports, including football, and basketball. He went on to have a long and fulfilling career in water management at Tyson Foods, where he took great pride in his work and in contributing to the community's overall safety. His dedication and commitment to his role made a lasting impact on those he worked with.
Randy never met a stranger; he had a natural gift for starting conversations and making people feel at ease. With his easygoing personality and warm sense of humor, he made friends wherever he went and had a special talent for putting a smile on people's faces. Whether chatting with coworkers, neighbors, or someone he had just met at the lake, Randy left lasting impressions and brightened every room he entered. A true outdoorsman, Randy was an avid hunter and loved spending time at the lake. Whether he was fishing or entertaining family and friends on his boat, the water was his favorite place to be.
Randy was truly remarkable—despite the very difficult journey he was going through, he maintained a wonderful attitude. During his treatments, he was always kind and positive, and his care team grew to love and admire him for his strength and warmth.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Sawyer, and his brother, Steve. He is survived by his devoted wife, Amelia Sawyer; his siblings Ronnie and wife Brenda of South Carolina, Larry and girlfriend Janie of Gravette, AR, and Carla and husband Jerry Kara of Gravette, AR; his beloved adopted daughters, Raquel, Brihget, and Lupita Sicairos; Alan Sicairos, his nephew whom he loved like a son; his sisters in law Araceli, Blanca, Nidia, and Maria, and his many nieces and nephews.
Randy will be remembered for his warm heart, steady presence, and the deep love he had for his family, friends, and the natural world. He brought people together effortlessly and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, Randy would have wanted donations to be made to the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at UAMS in Little Rock, AR.
