was born on March 29, 1926 to the late John Blackwell and Lena Rebecca (Greathouse) Hallford.
Reba worked in Seattle, Washington in an aluminum plant during the 1940’s doing her part for the War
II. After returning home with her growing family, she and Ralph opened Harris Tasty Pastries, the finest
homemade baked goods in the area. With the help of the oldest kids at the time, they ran a store in
Rogers, Bentonville, and Springdale. This time in her life has led to a lifetime of memories and the best
baked goods for all family events. Always thinking of her growing family, they closed the bakeries and
she joined a small team and became among some of the first workers at Emerson Electric in the 60’s and
70’s. Reba worked in the cafeteria at Southside Elementary and also as a short order cook for Mr. Howard.
She loved to cook and there was nothing she couldn’t cook. Beef tongue that crawled out of the pot, to
frog legs jumping out of the hot skillet.
She always put her family first and would do anything for them. Even in her last days she would ask if
everyone was ok.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph E. Harris; son, Duane Harris; 2
granddaughters, Sammy Joe and Jennifer; and her grandson, Jason.
She is survived by her 5 sons, Galen Harris and Susan of Bella Vista, Gary Harris of Rogers, Dale Harris
and Jan of Bella Vista, Johnny Harris and Judy of Carthage, Missouri, Gerald Harris and Pam of Rogers;
her daughter, Carolyn Harris Pike and Gene of Rogers; 18 grandkids; 27 great-grandkids; 12 great-great
grandkids; and 2 great-great-great grandkids on the way.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend.
