It's been 6 years, mom. 6 years of the roller coaster that is life. Sky is 9 now. Lily is 4. And me and Shannon are still going strong.

I'm working at a great company now. It's actually a pest control company. But I do all of the digital marketing for them. Everyone I work with is awesome. And the owners, Trent and Amanda, are amazing people. I've also taken up photography and videography on the side. I know you'd be proud of me, mom. These past several years have been hard. It was hard losing you. And it was almost harder watching dad lose you. He's doing ok nowadays, though.

Haven't talked with Zach much lately. But he's working at the same place dad is. He's married and has a step daughter. A lot's changed. But we still miss you, mom. We really do. I've done my best to hold the family together and keep us all going in the right direction. Haven't succeeded at every turn. But I'm still trying.

I love you. And I hope you're looking down on us all. And I hope you're proud of the man I've become.

It's been a little over two years since we lost you. It still seems like yesterday. Some awesome things have happened since then. Some not so awesome things too. I'm leaving an update here because it's the closest I can get to talking to you.

I got married to a beautiful woman last year. Shannon. She already had a daughter from a previous relationship named Skylar (Sky for short). She's 5 now and about to start kindergarten. We also had another baby girl this year. Just a few days before your birthday. We named her Lily Kay Walker. She's going on 6 months already. We gave her your middle name. It's the least I could do since I was a little late finding a wife and having grandbabies for you to spoil. We also have a little dog named Belle. She's a young corgi/blue heeler mix. And she loves to cuddle.

I started a business. KDUB Enterprises. It's going pretty well so far. As always, though...we need more money rolling in. Seems like that never changes. But I'm slowly figuring it out.

Today is your wedding anniversary. I'm sure you know that, though. I'm not sure how dad's handling it today. But I'm going to try to get him out of the house and over here to make food and hang out for a while. Father's Day is also tomorrow. Seems like a ton is going on lately. But believe me...we haven't forgotten about you.

I have known Rhonda since she was 9 months old her and my daughter Danielle were playmates. She was a great and strong lady. Had lunch with her a while back and a great time remembering the old days. RIP Rhonda love you mama Shirley

To the family I wish I had words to lighten your agony but sometimes words are not enough. Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. You all are in my prayers and thoughts.

My beautiful angel, my heart is breaking. I know it's only been three days, but everywhere I look you're there. I still hear you call for me in the middle of the night, I get up in the morning thinking I need to get your breakfast ready. You always kept your bedside light on and I still can't bring myself to turn it off; turning it off would bring darkness and make it seem too final.

Every time my phone rings I pick it up thinking it's you. It seems that the only calls I get now are from people saying how sorry they are to hear you passed away, or the funeral home calling to verify your information, and the insurance company saying the policy amount was reduced because we didn't have it for at least two years.

And through it all, I am still trying to grasp that you're really gone. I ache to hold your hand one more time, to look into those beautiful eyes and give you just one more kiss.

These past three days have seemed like an eternity without you. But there is one thing I know for sure; you're finally cradled in the arms of God, feeling no pain, walking, talking, and totally healed. I would never ask God to send you back, because that would be selfish on my part, but I make you this promise; I will see you again someday. 

But until then, I'll never stop missing you. I can only pray that it gets easier with time.
