

Rose Marie (Williams) Willett, Ph.D. passed from this life to her heavenly home Thursday, December 24, 2020. She was born November 8, 1939, in Lowell, Arkansas to Dorothy (Blankenship) and Earl Williams who both preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons: Fred Earl McClain and Jon Clay Willett, two grandsons; three granddaughters; two great-granddaughters. She is also survived by four siblings: Donald Williams, Marquita Whitaker, Danny Williams, and Kathy Neal.
Dr. Willett attended Center Corner School and Rogers High School. She completed her undergraduate, master's, and doctorate degrees from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Dr. Willett was a teacher/professor.
Her entire career of over 50 years was devoted to education. She taught in various school districts in Northwest Arkansas. While teaching at a boarding school in New Mexico. she became an accomplished pilot. She was a founding member of North West Arkansas Community College (NWACC). Dr. Willett completed her career teaching special education at Rogers High School.
A kinder more generous heart could not be found than that of Dr. Willett. She taught her students how to survive as well as educate them. She was available for counseling and provided food and clothing when necessary.
Dr. Willett was a member of many organizations, but Altrusa was where she found her calling. There she could help the community and live her principles as a Christian woman where she practiced “Love thy Neighbor.”
