Ruby Ellen Howard

She was born November 22, 1936, to Arvil and Marie Whitlock in Eufaula, OK.

Ruby was a woman of profound faith, and she loved her family. She had a gift for song, and enjoyed singing with her family. She also had a love for nature and spent time outdoors, enjoying God’s creation. She believed that her greatest gift in life was family. Ruby worked at Wal-Mart for 27 years, and so appreciated the friendships of those she worked with.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, John Howard; and a sister, Mary McAlister.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her three daughters, Linda Hardaway and husband Darrell of Roseburg, OR, Reba Metcalf and husband Dennis of Bentonville, AR, and Lora “Lolly” McClellan and husband Roger of Fowler, IN. She also leaves behind two brothers, Russell and Dale Whitlock, and a sister, Margie Smith, as well as 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 2:00 Monday, November 29, 2010, at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, with burial under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 at the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, November 28, 2010.
