

Samuel David Lassiter, 42, died April 22, 2014 at M.D. Anderson hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born in Heidelberg, Germany, on March 15, 1972, to Sam Lassiter II and Patricia Ann Cook. He was raised in Hoxie, Ark., by his adoptive parents, the late Opal Brandon and Elbert “Buddy” Rasdon.
Sam was a 20-year Walmart associate and worked in the Information Systems Division in Bentonville, Ark., as an Advanced System Engineer. He was a dedicated associate who made many contributions to the company. Sam was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and served as volunteer fire fighter and EMT in Knoxville. He was an avid NASCAR and Jimmy Johnson fan.
Sam leaves behind his two precious daughters Samantha Kathleen Lassiter, 16, of Rogers and Talia Angeline Lassiter, 6, of Bentonville.
He is survived by his stepchildren, Andrew Gravit, Lauren Dickey, Caitlin Riddle and Dalton Barnes; girlfriend, Donna Pierce of Rogers; very dear friends he called “his adult parents”, John and Bea Leech of Houston, Texas; siblings, Dale Brandon, Kevin Anderson, LaWanda Minter, LaShell Gehring, Tim Lassiter, Todd Lassiter, Tammy Lassiter; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers, Ark., with funeral services immediately following at 11 a.m. Honorary pallbearers: Tim Francis, Steve Cardenzana, Ed Barlow, Heath Konkler and Paul Harrill. Burial will follow at a later date. Donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society are requested in lieu of flowers.
