Vickie Ellen Shotwell, age 63, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away Friday, November 12, in Rogers with her beloved husband by her side. While her departure was tragic and sudden, she left us content, full of love & without regret. Vickie was loved by all due to her selfless nature and her desire to help others. Vickie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bill, and her two sons: Bob of Wood River, Illinois; and Brandon & his wife Emiliya of Chester, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Gracie Tapp and her brother David. Vickie was born November 26, 1957 in Bloomington, Illinois. She developed a love for animals at a very young age which started with horse riding as a child and manifested in dogs as an adult. Vickie was a world class Cairn Terrier dog shower & breeder who owned and operated Runrig Cairns in Rogers for nearly 20 years. She has shown several champions and grand champions. Most recently, her time was spent spoiling her 4 current fur babies Izzy, Torin, Flare, and Frolic. When Vickie wasn’t taking care of her family, she enjoyed cooking, photography, and of course sipping wine by the fireplace during a snowstorm. While no job was more difficult than feeding and nurturing the Shotwell men, she also found the time to help others in any way she could. One such example was that she served as a special education kindergarten teacher in Davenport, Iowa. Simply put, Vickie was an amazing woman who was loved by many and will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know her. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, in Hunt Chapel at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. one hour prior to the service. Pastor Walton Hook will be officiating. Reception will be held at the Shotwell residence following the conclusion of all events. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Vickie Shotwell’s name to the Foundation of the Cairn Terrier Club of America located at 2372 Crestcliff Drive, Tucker, GA 30084.
