
Mrs. Cox was born in Lindale, GA. daughter of the late Thomas Lee Smith and Dora Edith Tolbert Smith.
Mrs. Cox was born and raised in Lindale, she later moved to Cave Spring where she and her husband raised her family. She was an avid China painting artist, a floral designer, loved sewing and reading, and was a member of the Cave Spring Garden Club and a member of Cave Spring United Methodist Church.
Survivors include four daughters; Lynn Cox and her husband Greg of Cave Spring, Ann Cox Cook and her husband Barry of Jasper, AL., Amy Cox Coursey and her husband Robert of Kennesaw, and Leigh Cox and her husband Eddie Hammack of Kennesaw. Also surviving is one brother; Glenn T. Smith of Cave Spring, four grandchildren Melissa Coursey Hess and her husband Bryan, Chris Wallace and his wife Kasie, Andy Cook and his wife Cathy, and Barbara Ann Cook, three great grandchildren; Layla Cook, Karlee Wallace, Lane Wallace and one niece and one nephew also survive. She was also preceded in death by her husband Mr. Earl Cox, Jr. on January 9, 1993.
Services for Mrs. Cox will be conducted Friday September 28, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Daniel’s Funeral Home with Rev. Dewey E. Bailey and Dr. Alan Hix officiating. A private interment will follow at the Cave Spring Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday September 27, 2012 from 6:00 until 7:30 at Daniel’s Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon’s Intl. P.O. Box 3653 Jasper, AL 35502.
Daniel’s Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Barbara Ann Cox.
