

Barbara was born in Floyd County, Georgia on July 6, 1934, daughter of the late William Howard Dorsett and the late Edrie Lee Lloyd Dorsett. She was a 1952 graduate of Rome High School and married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Walter Ray Curtis. They enjoyed their life together immensely.
Barbara retired from Georgia Kraft Company, later known as Inland Paperboard & Packaging, Inc. after a 30-plus year career. She had a passion for travel and experienced many amazing world-wide trips with family and friends. She was a long-time Pink Lady volunteer at Floyd Medical Center and a member of North Broad Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ray Curtis; and by siblings, Lewis “Bud” Dorsett, Donald Dorsett and Vivian Barnett.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Hedgelon (Butch) and Allison Cape; three grandchildren Steve Carter (Patricia); Brad Helbing (Lauren); and Erin Helbing (Adam); four great-grandchildren, Randy Carter, Maddox Helbing, Amelia Helbing and Olivia Helbing.

In her honor, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Barbara will be interred at Eastview Cemetery; a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
