Barbara was born on August 19, 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of the late Ben Jay Babcock and the late Mildred Louise West Babcock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Babcock Quine. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, daughter and grandmother. As a Christian, she cherished her relationship with Jesus, her Lord and Savior; and enjoyed her membership at Wildwood Baptist Church in Acworth.Barbara worked at Tilman Insurance and Doyle Oliver Insurance for several years. She was a publisher and editor for 4 dog magazines as well as a customer service representative for Super Shopper. She enjoyed travelling, Dollywood, Disneyland, birds, cats, dogs and horses.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Garry Don Stewart; her children, Chris Stewart (April) and Rebecca Dixon (Shane); her grandchildren, Ben Dixon, Lyla Dixon, Vincent Dixon, Kristy Stewart and Jacob Stewart.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm in Floyd Memory Gardens.
