He was a lifelong Georgian, born on December 16, 1944, in Atlanta, and lived in Brunswick, Albany, Kennesaw, Rome, and Newnan as a child. He graduated from Newnan High School in 1962 and the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1967 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the Georgia Army National Guard, and later started his own company, Steam-Tech, Inc., as an equipment manufacturer’s representative, in 1976. He was a talented salesman and problem solver, representing manufacturers from the US and England to power generation companies for over 30 years. Mr. Cox was very devoted to making time for his wife and family. He was known for having many hobbies, including history, sports, and outdoor activities. He had a passion for restoring cars and building homes. He loved to explore new places and learn new things, and demonstrated resilience and grace in the face of life's challenges. He was outgoing and had a fun sense of humor. We will miss him always and are comforted and strengthened by all that we learned from him. He was predeceased by his parents Cicero Albert Cox and June Leonard Cox and brother John Albert Cox, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anne Hood Cox of Atlanta, son Michael Jason Cox (wife Abby) of Atlanta, daughter Muguet Cox Kebel (husband Matt) of Jersey City, NJ, four granddaughters, sister Ladye Jane Payne of Rome, nephew John Cox (wife Shea) of Carrollton, and several cousins.
