

Dan was born in Vienna, Georgia September 16, 1941. He was the son of the late Daniel Leon White and Estelle Louise Nichols White.
Dan attended school in Lake Wales, Florida and then graduated from Berry College with a BA in English. He taught high school and middle school in Florida for 27 years. In 1971 he felt a calling from God to go into the ministry. He was ordained in 1972. He attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 1975. He continued his education at the Billy Graham School of evangelism and pastored for over 40 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1972. The many churches he served were in Kentucky, Alabama, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and here in Rome at Second Avenue Baptist Church as Senior Adult Minister. He was a member of the Golden Chorus Singers of Gaston County, North Carolina, the Three Rivers Singers of Rome, and sang in the choir at Second Avenue Baptist Church. He loved Gospel music, reading, writing, and watching professional basketball. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emily Roberson White, one daughter, Stephanie Holaday (Kevin) of Danville, Alabama; two sons, Chris White (Sandi), and Stephen White (Helena) both of Lakeland, Florida; one brother, Jim White (Judy) of Catlett, Virginia; one stepson, Elbert Roberson, Jr (Diane) of Rome; two stepdaughters, Lisa Webster (Ned) of Rome, and Haley Lewis (Jon) of Sierra Vista, Arizona; and two half-sisters, Sallie Bentley and Bessie Stieringer both of Cottonwood, Alabama; three grandchildren, Garrett Holaday, Savannah Holaday, and Christian White, 8 step grandchildren, two nephews and one niece.
