
Mrs. Brown was born in Calhoun, GA. May 3, 1922. She was the daughter of the late William Elzie White and Rosa Lee Fuller White. She was also preceded in death her husband James M. Brown, one brother; Harold M. White, and one sister-in-law; Eunice Brown.
She grew up in Calhoun, GA. She was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in Rome where she served for many years as their dietician, and was a member of the Evelyn Perry Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Wayside Homemakers Club of the Floyd County Extension Office, the Model Ruritan Club, and participated in craft fairs throughout the area. She was also known for her famous pound cakes everyone loved and will greatly miss.
Survivors include two sons; David Brown and his wife Teresa of Rome, Mark Brown of Rome, and two daughters Beth Simmons and her husband John of Trion, Patty Drummond and her husband Wayne of Rome, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and one sister-in-law Madeleine White.
Funeral services were held Sunday October 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church of Rome, GA. with the Rev. Clyde Wilson and the Rev. John Geaney officiating. Interment followed at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens of Rome. The family received friends Saturday evening October 19, 2013 at Daniel’s Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
