
Edna Earl Bradford, age 95, passed away at her residence Wednesday June 20, 2012. She and her twin sister were born September 7, 1916. She was the daughter of the late John Bailey Bradford and Nannie Valerie Pearson Bradford. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Essie Bradford Schrader, her sister Nannie Laverne Bradford, and three brothers; Jessie Lavert Bradford, Erma Lavee Bradford and John Seldon Bradford.
Miss Bradford grew up in Ashland, Alabama, graduated from high school in Tifton, Georgia, and spent most of her adult life in Macon, Georgia before moving to Rome in 1966. She has lived the past six years at Horizon Bay in Rome. Her career was in retail fashion, and she retired from Joseph N. Neel in Macon in 1982. She is survived by the nieces and nephews she helped raise; Cheryl Melton and her husband Tom of Rome, and Kay Lynne Mitchell and her husband Frank of Rome, Don Schrader and his wife Carol of Milledgeville, GA, and Bob Schrader and his wife Rita of Gray, GA., as well as several other nieces and nephews including Johnny Bradford and his wife Kim, Laverne Miley, David Bradford, Tammy Powers and her husband Van of Chula, GA, and Carolyn Mitchell and her husband Jim of Oakland, Florida. Several great nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside interment service for Miss Bradford was conducted Friday June 22, 2012 at 1 PM at Oakridge Cemetery in Tifton, GA with Rev. Chad Hall officiating. The family may be contacted at the home of Tom and Cheryl Melton, 512 E. 11th St. Rome.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Heyman Hospice Care at Floyd, 420 E. Second Ave., Suite 105, Rome, GA. 30161.
