

Florence’s parent were William Harrison Turner and Pauline Jones Turner of Raleigh, North Carolina. Florence graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, attended the University of Maryland and graduated as a Registered Nurse. She then attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and graduated with a Certification in Public Health Nursing.
She married Benjamin Aubrey Ansley, Jr on October 22, 194 and were married until his passing December 23, 1983. She was an active volunteer Pink Lady at the hospital, an active member of her garden club and an avid bridge player. She taught her children the joy of tennis and swimming. She is survived by a son, Benjamin Aubrey Ansley III of Wytheville, Virginia and a daughter, Laurie Ansley Gerhard of Rome, Georgia. She is survived by three grandchildren, Christopher Ansley Gerhard (Christen) of Rainbow City, Alabama, CDR Katherine Gerhard Vasquez (Nicholas) of Alexandra, Virginia, John Stephen Gerhard (Holland) of Tampa, Florida, Elizabeth Kay Ansley and Meredith Aubrey Ansley. Florence is survived by four great-grandchildren, Caden (3 years), Ava (10 months), Benjamin (22 months) and Penelope (1 week old).
A Musical Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 606 Turner McCall Blvd, Rome, Georgia on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 2 pm. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church or to The Resurrection Sunday School Class at Trinity United Methodist Church.
