Mike Hawkins was born August 11, 1956 in R ome, GA, son of the late James “Kelley” Hawkins and Marie Hawkins. He is survived by his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and Danny Baker and Christine and Shawn Dempsey; his daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Marie and Mike House and Jamie and Keith Youngblood; and his four grandchildren, Jackson, Jefferson and Ella Kate House and Parker Youngblood.
Mike served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force. He served his active duty in Minot, North Dakota from 1975 to 1979 and continued in the Air Force Reserves until 1987. He worked for the Coca Cola Company for a number of years before becoming a license optician.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 6:30 PM at Dykes Creek Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dykes Creek Baptist Church, 3181 Kingston Highway NE, Rome, GA 30161.
