
Mrs. Gordon was born in Montgomery, AL, August 4, 1924, daughter of the late Jessie Charles Bush and Mary Estelle McCain Bush. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Gordon, to whom she was married on June 23, 1944. Mrs. Gordon was a charter member of the Garden Lakes Baptist Church, and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She loved gardening, was a volunteer at Redmond Regional Medical Center, an avid Atlanta Braves fan, a member of a local sewing club, and was a member of the first Garden Lakes Elementary School Board; but more than anything, she greatly loved her family.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Gordon of Natchitoches,LA and William C. Gordon and his wife, Kathryn, of Winston Salem, NC; three daughters, Vicki Graben of Rome, Mary Kay Brown and her husband Jim of Rome, and Shara Lee and her husband Robert of Ft. Worth, TX; and three brothers, Wallace Bush of Montgomery, AL, Jake Bush of Niceville,Fl and Tom Bush of Montgomery, AL. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home with the Reverend Bob Skelton officiating. Interment followed at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family received friends Saturday from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
Those serving as pallbearers were: Brandon Patch, Daniel Gordon, Patrick Gordon, Jon Gordon, Hunter Storey, Jake Storey and Chris McGill.
